I was really hoping for something more from this post, like life lessons as opposed to literal lessons. Moms, cousins, siblings, etc, can teach all of the above, but there's something unique and special about the father/daughter dynamic that I hoped this list would capture. There are myriad ways that moms can show their daughters how to be strong and independent women, we discuss them all the time, but you hear less about how dads can do the same. That said maybe I should shut the fuck up because I can only do 1 thing on this entire list (bake a cake) .
@Penny: My mom ate ring dings daily when she was pregnant with me, and I hate them with a passion. When she was pregs with my brother, all she ate was salad, which he won't touch with a 10 foot pole. Weird.
I keep getting timed out every time I try to create one, but I really want one that says "I am against feminism ... because I believe that women are equal to men."
@BiBiVirtue: I don't remember ever hearing that. But it wouldn't surprise me if the marriage was open, I've always thought they were each other's beards.
@msAnthrope: Really? I don't think a 5 year old child sleeping with a parent is weird at all, regardless of the gender of child or parent. And I'm from an Irish Catholic family - my knee-jerk response to most situations is always something along the lines of "Cover it up!" or "Save room for the holy spirit!"
