I've heard this too -- I think different groups prefer different terms. The article, from a Native-American-specific news source, uses the phrase "Menominee Tribe" several times, so that's what I went with.
I've definitely heard him making anti-domestic violence statements before, and talking about his mom. The above was just published as an editorial Sunday though.

It's not. From the complaint, it seems like they may have made this up as evidence of prostitution, but I don't think by itself it's a crime.
From what I could tell, they just have no current guidelines on how to treat trans detainees. So they're supposed to treat them with basic respect and dignity as they would any other detainee, but they don't always. And there are certain trans-specific issues -- like housing trans detainees with their identified gender -- that they have no policy on and thus seem to repeatedly get wrong.

Also, fair is fair. I don't hold a negative opinion about anyone without reason. We need solutions. And my solution has proven to be the best and only realistic one so far. One cannot remain in society and try to change others or get everyone to agree with him. That's impossible. All one can do is find people and other cultures that are more compatible with him who will value and appreciate him more, and make him feel loved and wanted.
Deep down, isn't that what we all want?
