I'm bemused that many of the commenters are falling into the same trap that Olive's detractors in the movie fall into: Caring about the status of her vagina.
I didn't root for Olive because she was a virgin or a "good girl", I rooted for Olive because she was funny, smart and self aware. She made the choices that were right for her.
Whether or not she had sex ISN'T THE POINT of this particular movie.
And as Olive tells us at the end, it's no one's fucking business anyway.
@texaseditor: I agree. But I think sometimes we (I do it, too) get trigger happy and when we see a statement like that, we automatically pick up our swords.
But, I think we have to strike a balance of fighting against forced and presupposed definitions of womanhood while still in good faith allowing women to define that for themselves.
Same with defining what is a Latina. You want to fight against stereotypes, but you also don't want to alienate those who make the conscious choice to be who they are.
@sequined: If you feel like they should be replaced, seriously do so.
The LAST think you want is a blowout or a flat tire in the middle of the night or something!
And doing two at once saves you some money. Just keep in mind, if you have a front-wheel drive, put the new ones on the front. Rear-wheel drive put the new ones on the back.
