@BioLady: I just renamed my tumblr "Intellect and Romance over Brute Force and Cynicism" ... couldn't fit the "triumph" in. It really is the best phrase I've heard in a very long time.
I want a prequel - go into more detail about Dumbledore's fight with Grindelwald, James and Lupin and Sirius when they were at school, explain why they all got involved in the original Order of the Phoenix (and why the Weasleys weren't) and would someone PLEASE tell me what happened to Harry's grandparents. In a world where people clearly live past 100, the fact that nobody's got grandparents makes no sense (as someone who was partially raised by her grandmother, I found this mind-boggling.)
I'm flying in a few days, and have been debating the "naked photo vs. groping" issue in my head for quite some time. My mind is now made up, I'm going for the groping.
For everyone saying you can't see shit - these are images taken with the lower-resolution scanner. There is a higher res scanner in place in a lot of airports (like, say, the airport in DC I'm flying out of in a week) where the images are MUCH sharper and clearer - and a further invasion of privacy.
@ontogeny: I bought a thigh-length black top (i think it's an AA tshirt of some form) and black leggings. And then i bought a bunch of white iron-on transfer paper, traced all the bones (ribs, shoulders, spine, pelvis, legs) and ironed them on. Because the shirt's so long, putting the pelvis on it made the most amount of sense.
@mwynn13: I was planning on a skeleton-looking costume (ribcage, spine & pelvis in white on a black tunic, then black leggings with leg bones on them.) So not exactly streetclothes? I've seen some in full victorian dress, but I can't pull that off for the events I'm going to on Halloween, so I thought skeleton-like body (which I saw in a lot of the illustrations as well) was a good second choice. And some of the skeleton-body images I saw were also wearing big hats, which if I incorrectly assumed were sombreros, excuse me.
Oh, wait, I actually have been wondering this about my own costume. I was planning on wearing a skeleton-looking costume and painting my face like a dia de los muertos skull. Because it's a mexican holiday, and I am all kinds of cracker, does that make it racist? I didn't even remotely think so, until I explained the costume and someone said "oooh, you should wear a sombrero!" and then I got worried.
I'm not dressing up as a Mexican, I'm dressing up as a Mexican spirit of the dead. Too subtle?
