I am sorry, I am having a really bad day, and I am not expressing myself very eloquently. I did not mean to imply that I think women who have children should not work. In fact, I think that women who work while raising children, probably have more balanced lives for themselves and their children. I guess what I was trying to say is that it seems like Sherri does not see her child as much as I would want to if I were a mom. I am sure that every situation is unique, and I don't judge her for her decision, as she seem like an intelligent and caring person, so I am sure that she is doing what is best for her and her son.

Hi, I just read your first posting on dietary needs in prison. My uncle has been in the prison system for 17 years and has struggled with the food rules. He is an orthodox jew that keeps kosher, and the prison system is rather accommodating on that front. What they weren't accommodating on was his need to get foods that help him lower his cholesterol. He actually fought the system (what else do you have to do when you're locked up that long?) and won, so he gets special food items like tofu and egg whites. Hope that helps!
