I have never, or will ever, shop at Wal-Mart :-)
God, I have the worst memory and I am trying to recall if I had to swap my Rx. Either way, it's totally easy, just call up your Doctor's office and let them know of the Rxs they have available. Here is a list of their generics, BC is at the very bottom:

I don't know that science is any different that other competitive fields, really. I'm pretty familiar with the process as my dad was getting his chem PhD while I was in college and have a few friends whose (yes) husbands are on the same track. But I also know of a few women who are mothers and are able to get far more flexible schedules. I mean, the thing about research is that you can do it anywhere. Are we just talking academia here or just the sciences in general?
I wish I could remember where I read that lady's comments. It had to have been in the Times if it hasn't been covered here, that's all I read. In any case, I was snickering throughout because of her 1) bitchiness and 2) clearly overinflated sense of the importance of VS. Even though they snag models like Kloss for their craptastic runway shows and it's supposed to be some pillar of awesomeness for a model, I refuse to accept it.
Thank god I had to put an order in at Amazon, this is perfect timing. I've always been kind of meh about my skin--I never really got breakouts after my teen years, and in your 20s it's easy to ignore it. But since turning 30 and having a kid, I am definitely seeing myself age. And it's not wrinkles, it's that dullness you talk about. I've been meaning to research new skin products for awhile, although I will probably just stick with Dermalogica, but this sounds kind of awesome. Off to read anecdotes from other commenters!
I just commented about this. It isn't true. I was on a generic pill that went from 8 to 60 bucks when I swapped insurance.
I don't but I sure as hell would factor it in if I had to pay a lot for it.

ETA - My boyfriend will often pick up my Rxs (I have three) so I guess it does kind of balance out in the end...

I have to admit that I was ignorant myself, after having had good insurance for a number of years (and previously being on my parent's insurance). Although I would never make as stupid of a comment about the cost. I kind of just figured that if a woman had expensive BC, it probably wasn't generic or covered--basically, that it was a somewhat special circumstance.

So, you can imagine my shock when I started a new job and the BC that had cost me $8 jumped to $60 a month. For a basic, generic pill. I had to go to Target and choose one of their cheapo pills, which is fine for me, but I know that some women are only tolerant of certain pills.

I actually found out about the Target thing here from helpful commenters, so just to be servicey, I now get a Target Rx for $28/3 months. I believe they have about 6 BC options.

I would also go if I could sit next to Stanley Tucci (see above).
I can totally see someone who is fascinated with the industry wanting to see a show and forking over that kind of money. I also see how attending shows can become very tiresome very fast, especially during the fall season when the weather is shit and you have to dart around to many different shows in one day. And especially now that celebrities have taken over attending and they are probably more of a clusterfuck than they used to be.
I can see how this is necessary for the crazies but I like to think that most people are grown up to handle this kind of thing. I've had multiple "office romances"...from boyfriends to just sex, and they are loads of fun. Just try not to hook up with a psycho, and definitely don't get too invested.
I thought the reenactments on those History Channel were bad. How tasteless.
That McCartney dress has grown on me, actually. Jane Fonda wore it in a recent spread and looked amaaaaazing. I don't get this Kate Upton thing. I read about her in the paper the other day and....I just don't get it. She looks way better in person than the cover, though. That cover is awful.
Yeah, Chris, we all know how important those Grammys are. You are one classy cat, my friend.
Well, Obama is lucky that he can speak to some things improving, namely the economy, however slowly. There's also the GOP congress who people hate more than Obama. There are the issues like the whole BC thing that big voting targets like indies and women support and the GOP are shooting themselves in the foot with. GWB was reelected because of fear mongering, and the fact that Kerry was our version of Romney. I don't think the GOP will rally around their candidate, they are too divided.

That probably didn't help at all.

I felt smug as I read this in the Times this morning. The more their base freaks out and splits the better. It is hilarious.

That said, if I have to eat my words in a few months, I will start drinking more heavily.

The latter. Enabling is one thing, but you can't "step in" with an addict.
Those tweets from Le Tigre and St Vincent made my morning.
Hey guys I have a medical question. On Sunday night my boyfriend jabbed me in the side of my head with his elbow (on accident), in the temple area. There was a crack, which I assume was his elbow, and it hurt like a motherfucker, I cried for some time. Yesterday I kind of had a numbing headache and on the drive home I stared to feel sick. I felt off all night long and last night woke up with a massive headache that again caused me to feel sick. I stayed home today to rest but after looking online I am of course a little paranoid. Do you think it's entirely necessary to go see a doctor? I don't even know what kind of doctor to see if I do.... #Groupthink
