Pennsylvania Makes It Officially Illegal to Grope Pregnant Bellies

Latest

My mother raised me to always remember these three very important life lessons: Always be aware of your surroundings, be sure to blend your makeup and NEVER EVER TOUCH A PREGNANT WOMAN’S BELLY WITHOUT ASKING.

Not groping at pregnant women is a pretty easy rule to live by, especially if you’re the type of well-rounded, reasonable person who never puts their hands on any person without permission. I don’t go around brushing the tummies of police officers or librarians or baristas, so why would that change just because those tummies have a baby growing in them?

Unfortunately, this is not a mentality that everyone lives by. In fact, nearly every pregnant woman I’ve ever known has had her stomach touched by a stranger and total bullshit. Thankfully, the good lawmakers of Pennsylvania recognize this and have very recently passed legislation that makes it illegal for a stranger to touch a pregnant woman’s stomach. The law was born out of a harassment case where a man was being charged for doing exactly that.

Good for the woman who pressed charges and good for Pennsylvania for passing the law. Now, how about every state follows suit and we all learn some fucking manners?
