• Following a study on the effects of birth control on lemur-scent, which found that contraceptive injections made female lemurs less sexy to potential mates, British scientists are considering undertaking a similar test on humans.

Experts called last night for more research to be done, but advise women to consider the possibility that birth control could be ruining their smell. "The impact of pheromones on humans cannot be underestimated," a spokeswoman for the campaign group Wellbeing of Women said.

• The UK's National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence has issued a new warning for obese women who are thinking about getting pregnant. Lose weight or risk complications, including gestational diabetes. They have also issued some guidelines for "eating for two:" pregnant women should only increase their calorie intake by 200 a day until the third trimester, and obese women should gain no more than 11 to 20 pounds.
• Two female employees at the Melbourne Airport have filed a lawsuit claiming that they were harassed and bullied for five years by male air traffic managers. The $2 million suit alleges that they were held back in their careers by sexist bosses, who got their kicks by emailing and viewing porn at work.
• A recent study out of Morocco found that the way a question is asked - and the gender of the questioner - has a huge impact on the way most people answer. After examining a survey of 800 Moroccans, researchers found strong evidence that the gender and dress of the interviewer affected responses on questions about women in politics and the role of Shari'a in family law.
• Since South Africa legalized same-sex marriage, over 3,000 gay couples have been married in the country. Advocates believe that the marriage law has begun to pave the way for a greater tolerance of homosexuality, which is long overdue in both South Africa and their neighboring nations.
• Heartbreaking: A 17-year-old mentally disabled girl with an IQ of 58 was coerced into sleeping with over 80 men for $25 apiece to help her boyfriend, 25-year-old Mario Laguna-Guerrero, pay off his debt to the smugglers who brought him from Mexico. Police say that Laguna pressured his girlfriend into bringing her high school classmates into the prostitution ring.
• More and more South Korean women are putting off marriage in favor of other "value-related" pursuits, like higher education and advancing self-development. The unmarried rate among women in their late 20s jumped to 59.1% in 2005 from 11.8% in 1975.
• More than half of women have problems achieving orgasm, according to a new study. A survey of 587 women from a urology center aged 18-95 found that 54% of women 18-30 report difficulty reaching climax as the biggest problem with their sex life, followed by lack of desire (36%) and satisfaction (28%).
• Former American Idol hopeful Ian Benardo is suing the show for $300 million, claiming that producers encouraged his stage-crashing stunt before turning against him for being gay. Benardo says the set "was permeated with discriminatory intimidation, ridicule, insults and hostile and offensive comments." He also says producers told him to "act more faggy."
