The world's nations are coming together to create one all-powerful estrogen-free vaginal ring! Well, kind of: researchers from the Dominican Republic, Chile, the U.S., and Edinburgh are working together to design a ring containing ullipristal acetate (the same drug in the emergency contraceptive ella) that would be similar to the NuvaRing, but also lessen blood flow and have none of the estrogen-related side effects that impede women from using some contraceptives. Score!

The ring — can we call it "my precious," or is that too creepy? — is still in the early stages, but here's hoping testing goes smoothly, because this sounds pretty awesome.
