RuPaul's Christmas Ball was shot for VH1 in 1993, but now that I've discovered it (thanks, Eliot!), I'm pretty sure it's more entertaining than any Christmas special, ever. Not only does it feature RuPaul herself, but other insanely fierce celebrities of the time: Elton John, Taylor Dane, Boy George, Laura Kightlinger, and ...Nirvana?! You'll also see LaToya Jackson wearing the same blonde-wig, red-dress getup that Ru is wearing, which obviously leads to a diva-off. Back To The Future's Biff. Weird Science's Chet. William Zabka in every movie role he's ever taken. Major motion pictures of the 1980s always seemed to rely on one particular movie trope: bullies. Whether it was James Spader in Pretty in Pink muttering the words "You're a bitch" with intense disdain or Shannen Doherty being the ultimate bitch in Heathers, bullies were an integral plot of almost every successful film about teenagers in that era. The men we appreciate now in Hollywood like John Cusack, Patrick Dempsey, and Michael J. The latest from Everything Is Terrible is a compilation of actors saying lines that include words "it's the 90s" in both television and film. As in, "Chill out, man, it's the 90s" or "She did what? But of all of the memorable references, my favorites have to be Christina Applegate declaring "I can be anything I wanna be, it's the 90s!" on Married With Children and Bea Arthur on Golden Girls saying "Ma, it's the 90s. Dancin' On The Air was, apparently, a teen dance series that ran from 1981 - 1987. It predated Dance Party USA — but that doesn't mean it was progressive in the least. In this selection, we're introduced to a series of teenagers slow dancing to "I Am By Your Side" by Corey Hart as the announcers explain who "stands behind" each of the dancers in their personal life. (Get it? Yeah, it's a stretch.) Weirdly, some of the dancers named their partner, while others named their parents.
