Good news, East Anglia!!! Get stranded in the Chiltern Hills or grievously wounded in Norwich City Center (too much pedestrianization, imo), and a handsome literal prince might LITERALLY COME RESCUE YOU. Literal Prince William has taken a job as a medevac helicopter pilot with East Anglian Air Ambulance, which means that he flies around in a big metal bee whisking imperiled peasants to safety.
I guess he's allowed to do dangerous flying-around shit 24/7 now that he made that Ye Olde Baby to run back-up on his princely
doodies duties. (Honestly, I don't really give a fuck who picks me up to take me to the hospital, as long as they get me there, but it's fun to pretend like "prince" is a real thing.)
Prince William will begin training for the new role this fall and winter before working with the East Anglian Air Ambulance in England. The Duke will fly both day and night shifts, starting as a co-pilot before he may qualify as a helicopter commander.
...Though he is entitled to a salary, the Duke will be donating his medevac income to charity. He is believed to be the first member of the Royal Family in direct succession to have an employment contract with a civilian employer. The job will draw on Prince William's experience as a search and rescue pilot for the RAF, for which he flew over 150 operations.
