Michele Bachmann Glitterbomed

Republican Presidential hopeful/crazy-eyed nutjob Michele Bachmann is the latest conservative to have her life glitterized on Saturday. Bachmann was speaking at a right wing political event when gay rights activist Rachel E. B. Lang flung two fistfuls of the sparkly stuff at the Congresswoman. Undaunted, Bachmann continued walking through the glitter confetti rain toward the people with whom she was going to greet, like an unstoppable robot hell-bent on rights destruction.

As Lang threw the glitter, she shouted “You can run, but you can’t hide!” This was in reference You Can Run But You Can’t Hide, the Bachmann-affiliated ministry group whose goal is to define marriage as between one man and one woman (or evangelical Deceptacon) with a name that sounds like it was lifted from a short list of rejected R. L. Stine young adult thriller titles.

Bachmann’s glitter bombing puts her in the company of other politicos who have been similarly targeted. Last Thursday, Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota fell victim to an IGD (Improvised Glitter Device), and last month, Newt Gingrich and his wife Callista were sprayed with sparkles.
