Melanie Griffith Gets the House, the Picasso, and $65,000 a Month

Latest

After 18 years of marriage, odd couple Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas announced in 2014 that they would divorce. Now, nearly a year and a half after the announcement, Griffith and Banderas have finally divvied up their estate.

According to TMZ, the couple will split all of their earnings post-2004. So, Banderas gets to keep money earned on the Zorro franchise and Spy Kids. But that means that half of Banderas’ earnings from the Shrek movies will go to Griffith.

TMZ reports:

It appears they signed some sort of postnup in 2004 which changed the financial deal of their marriage … they married in 1996 but it seems they kept everything separate from the date of their marriage until 2004.

Apparently Spy Kids and Zorro were worth quite a bit of money. The divorce documents show that Banderas will pay Griffith $65,000 a month in spousal support. Griffith will also get the house in Aspen and a Picasso painting. Banderas will keep the Picasso drawing and a Diego Rivera.

Meanwhile, Griffith is still working on getting that hideous “Antonio” heart tattoo removed from her arm. Life lesson: never get someone else’s name tattooed on your body unless it’s your mom.
