Megyn Kelly Might Bump Sean Hannity From His Prime Spot on Fox News

Latest

It’s important to take everything “reported” by Matt Drudge with a grain of salt, or maybe a whole bag of it, but he’s started rumors circulating that Megyn Kelly might be replacing Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News this fall.

Hannity currently hosts the 9 p.m. slot on Fox News, where he likes to talk about his ridiculous Twitter tirades with people much smarter like him like Ryan Adams; his contract with Fox runs through 2016. Things have shifted around at Fox recently; Kelly was promoted to primetime, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck replaced Gretchen Carlson. These changes prompted rumors that Greta Von Susteren might be getting moved from her primetime show, a change Von Susteren denied.

An “insider” aka Kelly herself gave this statement to Drudge:

“It’s all about Megyn,” an insider explains. “She is the new face of cable news. She has it all!”

Fox News president Roger Ailes said today that “All of our stars will be back,” adding that Hannity “is a brand that many of our viewers love and want to see, and, as you know, is one of the nicest guys in the building.”

Fox also issued a statement denying that Hannity is going anywhere, saying:

“We will neither confirm nor deny any programming schedule changes. As previously stated, the network has signed long-term deals with Megyn Kelly, Bret Baier, Shepard Smith, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren.”

Ah yes, Bret Baier! What’s he been up to?
