Sarah Palin feels the press should be forced to report about her in a certain way to avoid abridging her First Amendment rights. Add the actual First Amendment to Article I, Section 3 of the Constitution on the list of Constitutional amendments Sarah Palin is planning when she is Empress of America. If you needed any other reasons to vote against McCain-Palin, Politico's list of Cabinet officials should help. It's got Dick Armitage for Secretary of State, Lindsay Graham for Secretary of Defense, Rudy Giuliani for Attorney General (!) and Randy "Biggest Asshole In the Universe" Scheunemann as National Security Advisor. John McCain should probably not look this happy, what with Obama killing it his commercial last night and then double-teaming it with Bill Clinton in a rally. But between annoying P.U.M.A.s, the media helping him out in his criticism and plenty of prognostication about how he could still win, I guess he does have a few reasons to smile. Readers of this weekend's New York Times Magazine might be forgiven if, upon reading Robert Draper's cover story on the McCain campaign, they check their calendars to make sure they didn't miss voting in the 2008 Presidential election. It reads more like an evisceration of a failed Presidential campaign than an exploration of the tactics-not-strategy of a struggling campaign. Well, if nothing else Steve Schmidt will have yet another reason to call the Times "an organization that is completely, totally 150 percent in the tank for the Democratic candidate"! More »
