Man Takes Selfie With Unwitting Wife Mid-Birth, Lives to Share the Picture

On Monday, a man took a selfie of himself smiling wildly while his wife is giving birth in the background and posted the image online. If you were his wife, would you kill him right then or wait until you’d left the hospital where people couldn’t see you?

Gil Solano posted his wife’s struggle on Reddit, which was picked up by the Daily Mail, with the caption “My wife wanted to make sure that someone took a picture of the expression on our faces when our daughter was born today. So I took one.” One commenter responded appropriately, writing “Aw. See, this is kind of like when she says ‘No! I don’t want anything for our anniversary. Just a card is fine.’ She’s going to kick your ass for this.”

But according to Solano, his wife saw the photo and laughed.

“I showed it to her in between pushes and she cracked up. Now I’m reading her all of you guys comments while she feeds our healthy 7lb 6 oz girl.”

On his Facebook page, Solano says their new baby is “as pretty as her mother.”
