Officials have been busy publicly disagreeing over just how serial killer-riddled Long Island is, but it seems any speculation may be premature. Several of the 10 victims recovered on South Shore beaches still haven't been identified, and now police are asking for the public's help. They've released a sketch of a woman whose skull was discovered last April off of Ocean Parkway, 15 years after her legs turned up on a Fire Island beach. Police don't know the woman's approximate age and can't recover dental records, so they're hoping someone will remember a woman who had scars on her right leg and a surgical scar with suture marks on her left ankle. Earlier this week Long Island police were vague about what exactly they found during their continuing search of a marshy area near where Shannan Gilbert, a 24-year-old sex worker from New Jersey, was last spotted a year ago. Yesterday, detectives announced that they've recovered Gilbert's jeans, shoes, cell phone, and purse with her ID inside. There's still no sign of her remains, but they say this supports their theory that after meeting with a client she ran off and wound up drowning in the marsh. "It's very easy to get engulfed with water, muck, and fall down and not be able to get out of there," said Suffolk County Police Commissioner Richard Dormer. In December, the bodies of four women were found near a stretch of highway on Long Island while police were looking for Shannan Gilbert, a missing New Jersey woman who worked as a prostitute. In the next few months, the remains of six more people turned up a few miles away. More details pertaining to the arrest of a Girls Gone Wild staffer for sexual assault have been released. Matthew O'Sullivan, the boss of a GGW video crew, met the 20-year-old victim inside a tavern and asked her to come to a party on the GGW bus, where he allegedly pulled off her shorts and underwear and then kept his fingers in hands around her throat to keep her from running out. The girl was able to break free when her friends saw her struggling behind a curtain and then helped her flag down the police. A taping of Girls Gone Wild (the nipple-flash video franchise owned by lawsuit-attracting and sexual harassment victim, Joe Francis) was cut short in Long Island, NY after a woman flagged down cops at 2:30 a.m. today outside of the Smithtown bar, nubar, and told them she had been sexually assaulted. The police then arrested a male staff member of the GGW production company near the GGW Party Bus, which was filming a segment on the search for "The Wildest Bar in America."
