Last week we posted about a cleric who proposed bombing TV stations in Afghanistan for airing soap operas. Today's Telegraph reports that the Afghan government banned soap operas yesterday. One TV station claims the ban is illegal and broadcast a popular Indian soap, as scheduled, last night. The station may face legal action but at least viewers weren't left hanging, mid-plot!
