Katy Perry Is a High Fashion Anna Karenina in 'Unconditionally' Video

Latest

If Anna Karenina had fewer trains and more flower-strewn Citroëns, it would be the video for “Unconditionally,” in which Katy Perry sings under a giant chandelier as courtiers dance.

In this clip, Katy Perry lives in a world where shit is always falling from the sky: snow, rose petals, bits of digital light. There’s also a really beautiful owl. But it’s really all about the sumptuous, luxe clothes. Pearls, brocade, gold buttons, gold thread embroidery, rich velvet. So pretty.

According to Fashionista, Katy’s wearing some high fashion picked by stylist Jonhny Wujek, including…

an orange brocade Wes Gordon gown from his Fall 2013 collection (paired with Dolce & Gabbana’s cross earrings from the Byzantine-inspired Fall 2013 show) and a cream lace Chanel Pre-Fall 2013 gown. She also wears an archival velvet Dolce & Gabbana dress from Fall 2004, originally modeled by Erin Wasson on the runway.

All I know is that I don’t really like this song, but I like this video. I wish it were a movie. I feel I would enjoy a movie with these scenes:
