Former Scientologist Leah Remini will be on 20/20 Friday evening to talk about Scientology, her new book, and the possibility of a King of Queens movie. OK, sheâs actually just talking about the first two things, but thatâs more than enough content for a compelling interview.
Despite reports that Katie Holmes, who studied Scientology while dating Tom Cruise, would be making âan appearance on the special,â that is (unfortunately) not the case. But not to worry! Holmes hasnât gone entirely silent.
In a statement released Friday, she said:
I regret having upset Leah in the past and wish her only the best in the future.
Holmesâs regret could have something to do with a story Remini tells in a clip from Friday eveningâs interview. In it, Remini recalls being sent to Tom Cruiseâs house âby a church officialâ to teach him salsa dancing.
âHe was like, forcibly kissing Katie, and I said, âHey, get a freaking room.â And, well, I was written up for that.â
Was Holmes the one who wrote Remini up? Her statementâvague enough to get past whatever is presumably prohibited by her prenupâdoesnât make that clear. All we know for certain is that Katie Holmes once upset Leah Remini, now regrets it, and wishes her âonly the best in the future.â
My eyes are gettinâ weary, my back is gettinâ tight, Iâm sittinâ here in traffic on the Queensboro Bridge tonight. But I donât care, âcause all I wanna do is cash my check and drive right home to my television and tune it to ABC at 10/9C.
