Kate Upton Says She 'Felt Terrible' After Her Sports Illustrated Cover

Despite all those interviews she did about what an amazing experience getting on the cover of Sports Illustrated was, men’s magazine favorite and now Vogue-approved model Kate Upton said that it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.

Upton has been in Sports Illustrated‘s Swimsuit Edition three times, first appearing in 2011. She was cover girl in 2012 and 2013, but in the September issue of ELLE, she told the magazine that it after the first year she was on the cover that she really felt gross:

“After my first Sports Illustrated cover, I felt terrible about myself for a solid month. Every single guy I met was either married or about to be married, and I felt like I was their bachelor present or something. I’m not a toy, I’m a human. I’m not here to be used. I am a grown woman, and you need to figure your shit out.”

She also commented on criticisms that she doesn’t have a ‘model body’:

“I don’t really take offense to it. I’m fine with it. I really do like my body and growing up in Florida, it was always a good thing if you could fill out a bikini.”

Lastly, her favorite part of her body is her eyes because they have yellow in them and yellow is her favorite color. Her least favorite part of her body is her hands because they are small.
