Last night, the Daily Show with Jon Stewart won its ninth Emmy in a row for outstanding variety, music or comedy series. Chris Wallace watched a lot of South Park before interviewing Jon Stewart this morning, but apparently he didn't see any of his previous appearances on news programs. It seems Stewart was supposed to crumble when Wallace accused him of being a liberal ideologue, but instead he spends the entire interview taking apart Wallace's shoddy arguments. (There is a point to be made about Stewart toeing the line between journalist and comedian, but Wallace presents it poorly.) Fox News' use of a clip from Comedy Central's roast of Pamela Anderson is particularly idiotic, but perhaps the point of this interview wasn't to successfully prove a point. The home audience was probably convinced that Wallace cut Stewart down a peg, because as the fake news anchor says, "Who are the most consistently misinformed media viewers?
