Jessica Biel Wants to Help Women Learn About Their Bodies

Latest

After Jessica Biel went off birth control to try for a baby (which resulted in little Silas, her spawn with Justin Timberlake), she realized she had a lot of questions pertaining to pregnancy, contraception and her own body. To help educate women like herself, Biel teamed up with Saundra Pelletier, founder of the women’s reproductive health organization, WomanCare Global. The two have created an online video series which will provide information on women’s health, from puberty to contraception.

When the two women met, Biel admitted to Pelletier she was clueless. “Suddenly I realized I really didn’t know what’s going on inside my own body,” Biel told Glamour. “It was shocking.” The videos will aim to help young girls who have questions about menstruating. Biel recalled when she first got her period in elementary school, an embarrassing moment that included a pad “the size of a skateboard.” Something we can probably all relate to. “We want girls to know what their [body is going through] so they don’t feel scared or ashamed or gross,” said Biel.
