J.K. Rowling Urges Harry Potter Cast to Keep Fictional Rivalries Alive

Latest

The younger generation of the Harry Potter cast may be pursuing new routes in show business, but, as Tom Felton and Matthew Lewis recently demonstrated on Twitter, they’re happy to channel their more magical selves. And J.K. Rowling, for her part, is here for all of it.

When, on August 28, Lewis (Neville Longbottom in the series) shared the trailer to Felton’s latest film, “Risen,” Felton (who plays Draco Malfoy) took the opportunity to indulge in a little Hogwarts house sparring. Rowling was of course delighted.

This is not the first time that Rowling has reacted publicly to Lewis’s antics. Perhaps you recall his cover photo on the U.K. magazine Attitude which made it all too clear that the under-estimated Gryffindor had…ahem…turned out nicely. (Did you take a look at the happy trail? Take a look at the happy trail.)

Rowling let the Twitterverse know her reaction to Lewis’s break-the-internet photo.

Ah, Matthew. You know Mother Jo checks up on you.

The Hogwarts crew better invest some time in curating their Twitter accounts. House rivalry role play? Great! Near nudity? Do your thing, but you’re damn well going to hear about it.

By the way, if you missed the hype about Daniel Radcliffe’s performance in Equus, you can catch up here. Depending on your predilections, you might want to do an image search, too.
