Iggy Azalea Won't Do Press for Her Major Tour, Sources Say. Too Bad [Updated]

One side effect of Iggy Azalea’s new Twitter/Instagram hiatus is that it’s putting a damper on the press scheduling around her tour. Aw.

According to The Wrap, sources say Azalea’s 24-date arena tour, The Great Escape, is facing hiccups because of her unwillingness to promote it. The site reports:

Azalea has become disengaged from her core team, one individual with knowledge of the situation said, and will not commit to press opportunities crucial in selling the massive effort.
The potential cancellation is also raising scheduling concerns for up-and-coming R&B singer Tinashe, who is slated as an opening act along with Nick Jonas, according to another insider.

Manager: “Hey Iggy, want to do this interview?”

Iggy: Shrug. “I’m not in the murda bidness.”

This could very well be complete speculation and maybe things are dandy. If not, I think we’d be fine with just Tinashe and Nick Jonas handling all press.

Update: According to Billboard, the tour is now postponed until this fall. Def Jam said in a statement: “To accommodate for creative team availability and tour productions, it was determined that the tour will not be ready this spring. It’s important to Iggy that she delivers the show she envisaged to share with her fans and that requires more time in development.”
