According to Movoto, Florida — also known as America's favorite punching bag — is the most stressed out for serious reasons like sky-high unemployment, and because 25.8% of residents are uninsured.
Movoto, a real estate analysis company, ranked each state by stress level using the following criteria:
- Percentage of population with a long commute (over 20 minutes)
- Hours worked
- Population density
- Percentage of income spent on housing
- Percentage of population without health insurance
On the map, the most stressed out states are in red, with orange and yellow states close behind, and the least stressed in dark green. The top 10 stressed states are Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, California, Nevada, Illinois, New York, Maryland, North Carolina, and Arizona.
Which brings us back to what else makes Florida stressful besides lack of jobs and health insurance. Could it be those pesky stand-your-ground laws and dealing with criminals named Chrystal Metheny who launch missiles into cars? On that latter point, the Florida Lindas must be the most stressed out people in America.
