Here's Gloria Steinem Starring with Anna Kendrick in a Kate Spade Commercial

God, modern feminism is just so commercialized, isn’t it? In Kate Spade’s new mini-movie, we have Anna Kendrick dining solo at the Russian Tea Room in New York, where she runs into (drumroll please) Gloria Steinem.

As Racked points out, if you would like to “shop her look,” Steinem is wearing Kate Spade sunglasses and carrying one of their purses. For her part, Kendrick manages to make a very twee premise pretty funny, and I suppose the ad is a success, as I want her fur-collared coat.

Gloria also did two short interviews for the brand about topics like her impact on the world, dining alone and her writing career. (She also notes, “bell hooks has great political advice: ‘If you buy shoes together, you can do politics together.’”)
