Who says Disney isn't a hip company? Yesterday they announced that they are totally going to chill out and let employees of their amusement parks have beards and goatees. This loosening of their notoriously strict grooming regulations comes as welcome news to Disney's cast members, as they call their employees. As one of them put it, "I think that a little bit of individuality between the cast members is not a bad thing. Well, maybe. According to new research, the same process that makes animals grow thicker coats in winter could be used to help cure human baldness. That is, therapies could target not just hair follicles themselves, but tissues around the follicle that could respond to environmental cues. Says study author Dr. Cheng-Ming Chuong, "To deal with the hair growth, you not only try to help the stem cell [in the follicle], but you can improve the 'soil,' like — You put a tulip bulb in a nicer soil, you will grow a nicer hair."
