H&M Sister Brand Shoots Fall Campaign With Transgender Models and Team

Latest

& Other Stories, the sister store to mass retailer H&M, just launched their fall campaign which stars transgender models Hari Nef and Valentijn De Hingh. The photoshoot was also produced by a team made up of creatives who identify as transgender, including photographer Amos Mac, stylist Love Bailey and makeup artist Nina Poon.

“The fashion world is embracing transgender models and we think that’s great,” & Other Stories’ creative director Sara Hildén Bengtson said in a press statement via Time. “But we couldn’t help to ask ourselves how the traditional fashion gaze can change if we keep the same normative crew behind the camera. So we invited five amazing creatives, all transgender, to make our latest story.”

& Other Stories is the latest brand to help trans visibility by diversifying their campaigns and including transgender models. Earlier this year, trans model Andreja Pejic became the face of cosmetic company Make Up For Ever, while the first transgender model agency recently opened a location in Los Angeles.

The collection, which features moderately-priced metallic sportswear, quilted vests and mesh tops, will be available in stores and online on August 20.
