I've been feeling nauseous, normally in the mornings, all the time now. I haven't ever puked from this, but it's just like every day I want to puke until the early afternoon. I always eat breakfast (cinnamon toast crunch, natch) there doesn't seem to be a factor with what I ate/drank/smoked the night before. Any ideas whats wrong with me and what I can do?
I am not pregnant. Trust. Unless I've been gestating a baby for 28 months and it's just starting to fuss.
@Snowbunny: I get nauseated ALL the time. I've had a friend in med school tell me that it could be an inner ear or eye issue, but my vision is perfect. I haven't researched the ear thing.
You may not be eating enough, not sure how much of the cereal you are eating, but a serving of cereal typically only has 150 or so calories.
I wish I could be more help, but I have struggled to find a solution for myself. Drinking coffee helps me (although it might make it worse for some). You can try ginger ale. Pellegrino always helps settle my stomach, regardless.
@Snowbunny: Yikes, I'm sorry. Could it be dehydration? I get that way when I'm really dehydrated, and it has nothing to do with what I drank or ate; it's from lack of water.
Of course, it could also be something very different. Maybe go see a doctor?
@Penny: Maybe in the am it's a lack of food, but I def don't lack food during the rest of the day. It is true I used to eat a bagel with peanut butter every morning, so my body is probably like "what the fuck is this? I want my blueberry bagel" but I guess I can go back to a massive breakfast if it will help.
Although I still get the stomach pains with the bagel sometimes...
@Snowbunny: Are you taking birth control or any other medication? Could your blood sugar level be spiking and then dropping? If it's not medication, maybe eating something with some protein in the morning might help. #groupthink(Edit comment)
@BadgerChaser: I am taking BC but I've been taking BC for six years now without any problems. It is probably a protein problem in the morning, I'll try eating peanut butter with my breakfast.
@Snowbunny: I used to get nauseous all the time like that in high school, accompanied with dizziness. In my case, the doctor diagnosed it as an inner ear infection (labrynthitis), which affects those tiny bones in your ear that help you balance. Unfortunately, all the doctor did was give me a prescription for extra strong motion sickness medication, and I had to wait for the infection to work itself out.
@Snowbunny: I have always been slightly nauseous when I wake up in the mornings. I don't know if it's because I'm tired, or if it's just the time of day, but I don't have this problem on weekends when I can sleep in until the early afternoon if I want. Usually a good strong dose of caffeine helps me.
@Snowbunny: Well, and I hate to tell people what to eat so I apologize if it's unwelcome advice, you might want to change up what you eat in the AM.
I like bagels, pastries and whatnot as much as the next person (probably more), but what they say about breakfast is true. Maybe try some toast with peanut butter? Fruit? Eggs? Something with lots of fiber/protein and some fat that will fill you up satiate your tummy?
Also, if you take a multi, don't take it in the morning, or any other meds.
@Snowbunny: All of the other advice is great, so I'll just add that I've had two long-term fights with unexplained nausea that ended up being 1) asthma medication, and 2) non-organic soy protein. FWIW

But, I do suspect that it's just a lack of food.

@TheDaneAbides (a.k.a. DaneCA): Oh no, I drink gallons of water during the day, usually two water bottles when I wake up.
I have an appointment coming up next week (with the lady doctor) so I'll ask her.
