Too bad that "effortless summer beauty" when more closely examined is about 400 pounds of "tinted moisturizer", a "quick sweep" of mascara (followed by 300 teeny tiny individual false lashes), a little bit of Vaseline to straight the brows and lips (following 3 different applications of nude, light-pink gloss and a $20 eyebrow wax).

"effortless summer beauty" is such bullshit. I hate those bitches that are just like, "WEAR SUNSCREEN EVERY DAY! THAT IS MY BEAUTY TIP!" while neglecting to share the latter paragraph's information.

I saw a bikini picture of her this morning. Kinda flat chested, not super skinny, but very toned. It made me love her for not buying huge boobs. Yet.

She's a lovely girl and all, but she's just that. A young girl. I don't want to look like a barely post pubescent girl anymore than I want to look like Joan Rivers (with or without the makeup and surgeries). I do like Heroes, though, I must admit. It's great for when you need a pop culture fix.

Her hairstyle is quite pretty. Not just a boring blowout, and not too complex either. Just...pretty, and refreshingly age appropriate.

I would kill to be able to do my eye makeup like that every day. It's probably a good thing I can't...I'd be WAY too hot to handle. Ha-ha.

Jeez - I wish I had had a makeup pro w/ me at 17. Instead I was left to my own devices w/ some Noxema Clean make-up, Bonne Bell Lip Smackers, black Great Lash, Wet 'n Wild eyeliner and a match. You can guess how it all turned out...

I don't even like her that much off Heroes, but her hair is nice. And you all have got to stop hating on Heroes. It is too good to not enjoy, either as a guilty pleasure or as a legitimately excellent show.

Not understanding the too much make-up remarks. It's not like she's a five year old in a beauty pageant, she's an adult actress at what is likely an industry event. Hell, even Abigail Breslin wears make-up to these kind of things.

Also, the make-up is pretty natural. Who the f*** doesn't wear foundation/powder, mascara, etc. before going to work (outside of the home, that is)? Why shouldn't she?

Yes, if you look at any other picture of her, her neck is short and fat...it's distracting. It's just concealed with some hair in that pic. Look, I'm just sick of seeing her picture every 5 minutes...damn, her publicist is working overtime.

She's NOT fat, and her neck's not short, and the people who are saying "she's really just a girl" are totally missing the point. I have gotten to like HP because she's about the only starlet in Hollywood who doesn't look like she was stamped out of the same press. Or anorexic. She actually looks like a healthy teenage girl. The people who thinks she looks strange are the sad, sad idiots who have bought into the Rachel Zoe aesthetic of shriveled, leathery, generic starlets.

I agree that the makeup's a bit heavy, but if this is for a media event, she may have been appearing on stage or on camera later, in which case this is totally appropriate.

@ae38: Weeeeell, I get what you're saying, but her mascara is kinda clumpy and the rose-colored blush on her temples looks like it was applied with a heavy hand. Also her cheekbone contour could have been blended better. It's an okay AMOUNT of makeup, it just could have been made to look softer.

Her diamond studs are juicy! I had a pair at her age (18th b-day gift from my granny) and you needed a magnafying glass to see them sparkle.

@ae38: uh, i don't. and actually neither does anyone in my office (of 12). i get that this is her job, and she's attending an event, blah blah, but from a purely 'do i like it' standpoint -- this hairstyle is super lame. it looks straight out of a prom magazine. and yes, she's wearing way too much makeup for my taste. foundation looks ugly if you can tell you're wearing it. too much eye make-up. and maybe i'm alone here, but i really don't like that kind of soft natural lipstick. either wear it or don't, i prefer don't. subtle gloss is nice! anyway, my, cranky as usual, two cents.
