Time for another vintage beauty gadget from Modern Mechanix! This time, it's a "face-fitting spring carrying two tiny knobs which press into the cheeks." A dimple-maker! Since some of us were so obsessed with Shirley Temple when we were little that we used to stick our pinkie nails into our cheeks for a few minutes every day, hoping for dimples, this doesn't seem that wacky. But the pinkie-nail thing didn't work, and we're sure this didn't, either. Because dimples, even though they're super cute, are muscle defects! We still sort of want them, but not like we used to.
