Just thought I'd let y'all know that you'll be seeing less and less of me around these parts. I'll still pop by every now and then, check messages, but don't expect much commenting after today. Jez has been going downhill for me, and I've decided to move away from it for a while. If theres anything you feel like telling me, PMs work, I'll be checking them regularly. :)
I joined the FB group for mine, mostly so I could FB-stalk and I have no real intention of going.
But.
There are people who have joined the group, who didn't even graduate with my HS class. I don't mean like drop outs--I mean kids I went to elementary school with and for some reason went to a different HS in the area.
So, I'm annoyed at the people who have the gall to openly do what I'm doing in secret. I just can't help myself.
I am so happy I am not the bride. While I love me some spock, I couldn't deal with bridal spock.
But the dude is a good guy and he treated me well. And I kinda think this is hysterically hilarious.
@Mr.Gawn: I don't have any Facebook, and every time I think about reopening my account (as I was thinking this weekend) I hear about some new horrible feature. What's it doing now? Should I still consider reopening my account?

I already know how ridiculous this is going to sound as I type it, but that stupid article that basically gave women an expiration date of 28 is irritating me. I'm 28! Even though I know it was a stupid, stupid article.
But it makes me feel like I should have had at least one torrid love affair by this point in my life, and it is messing with my determination to not worry about men at least until I finish this last term of coursework. Can anyone empathize at least? Or just tell me I'm an idiot; I could probably use that too.
@gnara: I think those articles are stupid, but deep down I always worry what if they're true? Because if that one you mention is right, I reached my expiration date two years ago and it's all downhill from here. Basically they feed right into my worst fears and I HATE THEM AND HOW THEY GET UNDER MY SKIN.
I may have my problems with the world, and my house may still be messier than I'm comfortable, and I may have sliced my hand open at work and bled all over everything, and my husband and I may have had a big fight yesterday...
but all of that was forgotten when he did our taxes today. Thank you, Academic Opportunity Credit.

So I finally saw Avatar this weekend, and while it was visually stunning (and I don't just mean Sam Worthington), I'm not sure it deserves a Best Picture Oscar. I also saw The Hurt Locker. I didn't intentionally pit them against each other this weekend... it just happened. Anyway, I was completely engrossed in The Hurt Locker and I don't usually like war movies. I thought it was really, really well made and thoughtful. Anyone else have thoughts or favorites in the Oscar race?#groupthinkReply
I am listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "By the Way" album. It's been such a long time since I've listened to this album. It's still really good too.
What are some of your recently rediscovered albums/artists?
@ablative: Oasis. After discovering that their albums are on eMusic, I used some credits to buy them after just having the singles rattling around on my iPod. I want to know where "She's Electric" has been all my life because I'm completely in love with it.
@ablative: I'm a huge fan! She's actually playing in my city on Friday but I can't go as I'm out of town. Sad! Then again I'm not too gutted as I'll be at my BFF's birthday party, so it's not bad compensation.
So what if Mr. Rogers hides behind furniture, sings about marrying his mom, and declares "I'm a man who likes to talk and sing with children," in this montage? He's probably still a better neighbor than DJ Lance. [N.Y. Magazine]
@fridaphile: I'm in another country and I've never seen Jersey Shore, or The Hills or that show with 8 kids for that matter. and yet I know way more about all these people than I want to, even if I don't click on the pieces. they are like plastic waste floating all over the ocean that is Internet.
