Women like Winehouse and Kate Moss are being blamed for a rise in drinking among teenage girls, according to a report written for the organization Women in Journalism. "The positive media coverage of "celebrity" behaviour involving sex, drugs and alcohol acts as an encouragement to young people," says Fiona Bawdon, author of the report. "Even negative coverage of celebrities, coverage saying it is dreadful that Amy Winehouse is falling out of a pub, still has an effect. "The message still gets across that this is how people behave."
