It's never news that Nancy Grace is acting like a total asshole, so it should come as no surprise that the former prosecutor makes no apologies or excuses over her brazen claim that the recently diseased Whitney Houston was possibly held under water and murdered. Grace's assertion, made earlier this week, was complete speculation, backed not with evidence or statements from medical and law officials, but by Grace's own bulldozing ego. Now that the autopsy report has been released, confirming no signs of foul play, Grace barkingly refuses to admit wrong in her scandalous statements, saying that she's just too real for us Harvard Law ivory tower-dwellers (i.e., people who think it's wrong to use a person's death to stir up scandal and garner publicity— the real legal elite). In a story that's depressing for everyone involved, Good Morning America has learned that Whitney Houston was on the brink of financial ruin at the time of her passing with banks attempting to foreclose on two of her homes. Since her death, sales of her music have skyrocketed, amassing a multi-million dollar sum of money that, ideally, will be passed on to her daughter, Bobbi Kristina. The segment is a shame for several reasons, chief among them the fact that an artist with such talent managed to squander her fortune on drugs and opulence. However, most depressing is the assertion that Whitney, a mother to one and inspiration to millions, may finally get her "comeback" moment in death. While that may be true financially, it certainly isn't true to the family and fans mourning her loss. More »

In a sad story that keeps getting sadder, Whitney Houston's former bodyguard Alan Jacobs has come forward to speak on his time as Houston's director of security from 1995 until 2002, when he allegedly left over concerns regarding her drug problem. Jacobs says, "[I told her,] 'You hired me to do a job, to protect you ... but I cannot protect you from yourself.'" The segment from Good Morning America brings up an interesting debate about how much responsibility a person's staff has in their boss's health and livelihood. When a person's job is ostensibly to protect their employer from physical harm, is it their obligation to step in when that employer is self-harming? Or is it, as Houston and Jacobs have both said, a personal battle that is ultimately not their business? More »

Toddlers & Tiaras favorite Alana "Honey Boo Boo Child" Thompson can no longer be contained to TLC and is now making her rounds on the morning news circuit. Alana initially clawed her way into our collective consciousness when her mother June was seen on Toddlers & Tiaras hyping her up using "go-go juice," a mix of Mountain Dew and Red Bull. When asked by GMA's Andrea Canning on the health risks of pumping a six-year-old full of sugar and caffeine so she can win a bunch of twenties glued to a paper plate, June, with a dimness generally reserved for unformed clay or taxidermied bears, entirely misses the point, saying, "There are worst things...There are normal people everyday who give their kids this. Why is it such a big issue with us pageant moms?" She later says, "Whether skinny or fat, whatever, I'm still gonna love my children, regardless." The Girl Scouts are going through a massively positive revamp in 2012 by kicking of the Year of the Girl and To Get Her There campaigns, which both aim to transfer public focus from cookies to the education of our future female leaders (don't worry, there will still be cookies). STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) has become a large part of the current GSUSA's agenda, with one troop of girls going as far as developing a prosthetic hand for a child born without fingers. All of these developments are occurring under current GSUSA Chief Executive Officer Ana Maria Chavez, the first latina CEO in Girl Scouts history. Chavez has also set out to diversify the Girl Scouts considerably by reaching out to more African American and Latina girls. Though Girl Scout enrollment is down overall, it's impossible to deny Chavez's profound effect on existing troops when you hear a room full of girls talking about their goals of becoming Apple engineers and obstetricians. Though once thought of exclusively for sad tweens with mean parents, fat camps have become increasingly de rigueur among children and adults alike. Now, with pet obesity rates on the rise, the fitness camp trend has spread to our canine companions, with doggie fat camps opening up all over the country. At these camps, dogs go through weigh-ins, regimented fitness routines and controlled diets much like a human would, although it's still debatable whether or not they get the coming-of-age experience that most camps have to offer. It seems as though Amanda Knox's history with the Italian legal system has not yet come to a close as the 24-year-old, who, after spending four years in prison, was acquitted of the murder of fellow exchange student Meredith Kercher, will likely be returning to the Italian courtrooms as soon as March, this time as a witness in her parents' defense against slander charges brought by the Perugian police. The charges arise from an interview Curt Knox, Amanda's father, gave to the London Sunday Times in which he said, "Amanda was abused physically and verbally... She told us she was hit in the back of the head by a police officer." If found guilty, the parents could face up to three years behind bars. Amanda Knox will also face first degree slander charges, though her trial date has yet to be set. More »

24-year-old Patrick Macchione has been sentenced to four years in prison after being found guilty of the cyber-stalking charges brought against him by his University of Central Florida classmate Kristen Pratt. Macchione contacted Pratt via Facebook after meeting her in a class in 2008. Though the initial interaction was polite, the messages quickly turned threatening and spread to other forms of social media such as Twitter and YouTube. (Though it hasn't been updated since 2009, Macchione's disturbing Twitter account remains active. His YouTube channel, however, has been disabled.) More »

Now, in her eighth month of internal baby-carrying, Amy has shown no sign of slowing down. If anything, rock climbing offers her an escape from being pregnant.
