Glee Throws in the Towel on Itself, Will End After Next Season

Latest

Following the heartbreaking Cory Monteith tribute episode, Glee showrunner Ryan Murphy has confirmed that the series will end with its sixth season.

During an FX panel at the Paley Center in Los Angeles last night, Murphy told the audience that he could no longer see going forward with the story — one he always believed would end with Rachel (Lea Michele) and Finn (Monteith) getting together.

“I always knew that, I always knew how it would end,” he said. “I knew what the last shot was — (Finn) was in it. I knew what the last line was — (Rachel) said it to him.”

Now, he plans to end the series in a different way, which will be “kind of in [Cory’s honor].”

Currently in its fifth season, Glee will return for its sixth, which Fox had ordered before Monteith’s passing.
