Gymnast gold medalist Gabby Douglas is joining Inside Edition as a Special Correspondent for Super Bowl XL VII. I know, it’s random. Wouldn’t she be better fit to chat up the Olympic athletes in Sochi, Russia at the Winter Games?
“Gabby has all the characteristics we look for in an on-air talent. She’s full of energy, charming, smart, and likeable. On top of that, as a champion athlete, she knows sports,” says INSIDE EDITION Executive Producer, Charles Lachman.
Even though she’s a New England Patriots fan, Gabby said in the press release that she’s thrilled to “join Inside Edition" and "bring viewers Super Bowl XL VII coverage from my perspective." The Seattle Seahawks are playing the Denver Broncos, by the way. I only know because as a Raiders fan — BLACK HOLE! — my support went to the San Francisco 49er's who lost this weekend along with the Patriots. Poor, attractive Tom Brady.
The gold medalist will also be profiled in a new Lifetime movie about her life called The Gabby Douglas Story, airing on February 1. Regina King, S. Epatha Merkerson and Douglas herself will star in the film, I assume Gabby will be playing herself. I am nervous.
