Fox News Host Claims Making Sandwiches For Men Will Prevent Divorce

During a segment on Fox News that discussed a study which said Republicans were happier in their marriages compared to Democrats (by a mere 7%), co-host and former MTV Real World season 3 star Rachel Campos-Duffy said that she believed the secret to a happy, conservative marriage was due to two things: religion and sandwiches.

The segment aired on Tuesday’s edition of Outnumbered, reports Raw Story. “I think more Republicans tend to be religious people,” said Campos-Duffy, who has been married to congressman and former MTV Real World season six star Sean Duffy for 17 years. “I know for myself and I know in the Greek Orthodox Church it’s the same idea of sanctification, that marriage is a sacrament, it’s a holy thing. And my job being married is to get my husband and my [seven] kids to heaven with me. And I think that changes the whole perspective on marriage.”

After asking the rest of the panel about their thoughts, host Andrea Tantaros referenced a recent discussion the group had in regards to a Glamour magazine article about “man-pleasing tips.” Tantaros had disagreed with the magazine’s decision to pull the article and voiced her own man-pleasing tips, one that included, “After you engage in a little horizontal hula, make him a sandwich!”

Tantaros defended her previous comments, saying, “This is not transporting women back to the 1950s, it’s just kindness.” She then described being “crucified by feminists” from liberal blogs. “I mean, ladies, if you want to fight with me all day and be against the side of kindness and respect for the one that you love, that’s a fight I’ll have all day long,” Tantaros said. Campos-Duffy then piped in by saying, “And it shows they are more likely to get divorced because they won’t make that sandwich. Make the sandwich, darn it!”

All of this sandwich talk has gotten me hungry while also causing me to wonder what had ever happened to the woman who made 300 sandwiches in order to convince her boyfriend to propose to her. Looks like all that sandwich-making did pay off because she recently took a senior editor position at Yahoo Food.
