Gianfranco Ferré, who was known for his tailoring and menswear, died in June. The designer received a degree in architecture before turning to fashion, and his signature was the sophisticated white shirt. The collection presented yesterday in Milan was too soft and streamlined to be considered "architectural," but the flowing dresses and easy pants were effortlessly chic and (gasp!) relatively wearable.
