Famous Young Entrepreneur Also Allegedly Skilled at Domestic Violence

Latest

Gurbaksh Chahal, the 31-year-old self-described “die-hard entrepreneur” and chief executive of online advertising company RadiumOne, was deemed one of the youngest and wealthiest entrepreneurs in the world by Oprah Winfrey in 2010. He was also charged last night with 47 counts of domestic violence-related crimes. Looks like Chahal is an ambitious #thoughtleader in all areas of his life!

According to court records (via the San Francisco Chronicle):

Prosecutors charged him with 45 felonies, including two counts of false imprisonment, two counts of criminal threats, and 41 counts of assault and domestic violence, according to the complaint.
One assault charge was assault with a deadly weapon, a pillow.

Attorney Stuart Gordon said the incident was simply an argument that had gotten out of hand and the charges “are entirely unjustified and blown out of proportion.”

“I think people who investigated this whole thing just totally overreacted because my client is a very young, very successful guy who has made a lot of money,” Gordon said. “I think they’re coming down on him pretty hard for reasons we don’t understand.” Crazy ladies are always trying to frame Oprah’s Choice techies!

Shockingly, this isn’t the first time Chahal has gotten in trouble with authorities for harassing women. In 2010, his condominium’s homeowners association sued him for allegedly verbally assaulting a woman working in the building’s lobby and taking her key card from her without permission. He settled for an undisclosed amount in 2011. Oh, and he’s currently free on $125,000 bail. Money is nice like that.
