I'll be honest: I was rooting for my girl Alexis Mateo, because she seems so super sweet. And then, I had this vision that maybe Manila would win, because she has been so consistent. But of course, the winner is… Raja. Naturally. It seemed kind of obvious from the beginning that Raja was blowing the judges away with her high fashion sense and untouchable, frosty attitude. I spoke with Raja at the finale party last night, and she said: One of the most rewarding things about the show, for me, is getting to reach out to kids. Little sissy youth, little butch youth, little boys and girls who feel like they might be born in the wrong body. Kids who feel different, or get picked on. Having those kids write to me and email me — they're so cute! They're 13 years old, telling me how seeing me has allowed them to open up conversations with their families. Organizers for a Barack Obama event on September 9th may want to consider hiring some new interns to check over their work. The organizers sent out invites to supporters advertising the event: "Runway to Change, with Special Guests Sarah Jessica Parker & Ann Wintour." Who? Oh, that's Anna Wintour, you know, the EIC of Vogue and the woman who has been raising thousands of dollars for the Obama campaign in New York. But whatever, it's one little typo! We can't call them incompetent for that! The Vagina Monologues Anniversary Celebration Was Wet & Wild

Earlier this year, author Nancy Redd was asked to give her 2007 body-positive book 'Body Drama' to 250 teenage Hurricane Katrina survivors at a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the 'Vagina Monologues'. "I've harbored a major crush on Eve Ensler for over nine years," Nancy says. "Growing up with normal teenage angst and inadequate health education, I hated my vulva and I never referred to "down there" as anything other than a "hoo-ha". The Monologues were my introduction to feminism; nothing was more empowering to 18-year-old me than having a legit reason to scream "MY SHORT SKIRT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU!" and "IT'S SUPPOSED TO SMELL LIKE PUSSY!" to the world." Below, Nancy fills us in on everything that went down in the (very fertile) Crescent City over the weekend, where 18,000 participants raised awareness of violence towards women by giving love to vaginas and the amazing women who own them.
