Erin Brockovich Arrested for Drunk Driving a Boat

If Julia Roberts is looking for the waterlogged sequel to Erin Brockovich — pitch it as a socially conscious Overboard? — she’s got her story.

Last Friday night, a game warden noticed Brockovich having a difficult time trying to moor her motor boat at the Las Vegas Boat Harbor. Breathalyzer tests revealed that she had a blood-alcohol level just over twice the legal limit of .08.

“She was not sure how to maneuver the boat into the dock,” Edwin Lyngar, spokesman for the Nevada Department of Wildlife, told The AP. “It’s a simple thing if you can think clearly. But if you add alcohol and unfamiliarity of the area, it can all cause serious problems.”

Best known for winning a multi-million dollar case against the water polluting PG&E/being played by Julia Roberts in a movie about said case, Brockovich was released from the Clark County Detention Center after posting $1,000 bail. Other than this BUI (?), she appears to be doing fine, with her own consulting business that investigates cases like the one that made her famous.
