Dr. Luke’s label, Kemosabe Recordings, has spent today laying off employees, according to Pitchfork. A spokesperson told the publication in a statement: “Kemosabe Records and Sony elected to downsize certain departments. Some of those functions will be handled by Sony as part of their joint venture relationship. Kemosabe continues to be fully operational and is excited about its current releases and the upcoming year.” Yesterday, a Manhattan court threw out Kesha’s appeal to be released from Kemosabe, but Pitchfork states the rep hasn’t yet confirmed whether the layoffs are related to the lawsuit.
