Determined Man Absconds with Ambulance, Heads to Strip Club

Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.

A 51-year-old man in Detroit was arrested after living the dream and allegedly taking an ambulance for a joy ride. His destination? A strip club called the Booby Trap, which is a brilliant name for a strip club. The Detroit News reports the grand theft auto:

The Star ambulance was stolen outside of McLaren Hospital in Pontiac, where attendants had taken a patient on a gurney into the hospital emergency room about 11 p.m. When they went back outside, the ambulance was gone. The ambulance was left with its keys in the ignition and the engine running, investigators said.

Keys in the ignition? CLASSIC MISTAKE. Listen, I know you have patients to save, but there’s an environment to save as well, you guys. Also, you never know when a dude’s going to jump in your unattended ambulance and head towards a strip club almost 30 miles away. Luckily one of the EMTs also left a cell phone in the ambulance, so police were able to track it down pretty quickly.

When police caught up with the thief (about 14 miles away), he stated he was headed to the Booby Trap Bar on Eight Mile (he was halfway there), completely unaware that the Booby Trap Bar hasn’t been around for years. Nope, it has since been replaced with the King of Diamonds Gentleman’s Club, so I guess we’ll never know if our friend would have even noticed the difference.
