After filming with Naomi Judd for the upcoming U.S. adaptation of the Australian cooking competition My Kitchen Rules, Ray J has accused the country musician of referring to grits as “slave food.” Sources from the show, however, deny that she said it.

Ray J—who’s cast on My Kitchen Rules alongside Judd, Andrew Dice Clay, Brandi Glanville, Lance Bass, and his sister Brandy—posted the following video to Instagram after learning that Judd wanted off the show because she feels she’s better than her co-stars:

“I just heard some disturbing news,” Ray J says into the camera. “...Miss Judd has some disturbing things to say about me, about Brandy, about people on set...I don’t know, maybe I was tripping when she said she didn’t like grits because it was, I don’t know, ‘slave food’ or that she would rather starve then eat grits. I don’t know what was going on, but I felt uncomfortable.”

Producers have since reviewed the footage and sources tell TMZ that Judd never made the “slave food” remark:

According to sources connected to My Kitchen Rules... when the cast gathered Wednesday, producers played back the “grits” footage in question. We’re told what really happened is Lance Bass and his mom served shrimp and grits — as part of the show — and during the meal Naomi said when she was growing up her mother wouldn’t let her eat grits ... because it was poor people’s food.

It’s a huge distinction from what Ray J said in his video post — that he’d seen Naomi refer to grits as “slave food.” We’re told Naomi was merely telling a story about something her mom had said.

Ray J’s Instagram video has since been taken down and out of the conflict, only one thing has become clear:

Grits are good.

Still, Grande’s feminism is clearly no put-on. “Do you want to see something I saved to my phone because it upset me so much?” she asks me. It’s a collection of tweets from a U.K. radio station with a salacious streak — two praise Justin Bieber and Zayn Malikfor showing skin, and two scold Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian for the same. “If you’re going to rave about how sexy a male artist looks with his shirt off,” says Grande, “and a woman decides to get in her panties or show her boobies for a photo shoot, she needs to be treated with the same awe and admiration. I will say it until I’m an old-ass lady with my tits out at Whole Foods. I’ll be in the produce aisle, naked at 95, with a sensible ponytail, one strand of hair left on my head and a Chanel bow. Mark my words. See you there with my 95 dogs.”
