Degrassi, That Show Drake Used to Be On, Has Been Cancelled

Latest

In hardest-thing-I’ve-ever-had-to-write news, Degrassi is coming to an end and it is so sad. NOBODY TALK TO ME.

Have you ever watched Degrassi? Because let me tell you, it was amazing. Nina Dobrev was on there. And Drake. It was so good. 14 SEASONS. I remember that episode where… Never mind, it’s too sad. Here’s what Variety reports of this dramatic life change:

“For an incredible 14 seasons, ‘Degrassi’ has been a groundbreaking show tackling so many important topics that real teens face in their everyday lives,” said Keith Dawkins, SVP and general manager, Nicktoons, TeenNick and Nick Jr. “In the final episodes on TeenNick and through the hour-long special and social activations, we hope to say goodbye in a way that is both fitting to the show and ‘Degrassi’s’ passionate fan base.”

That passionate fan base includes me, who watched every episode, including the one mentioned in the above second paragraph. According to another source at Jezebel who also loves Degrassi as much as (but not more than) I do, the show’s storylines quickly got boring after Drake departed (to become the voice of a generation). “I also became an adult,” said staffer reasons.

The show totally sucked after Drake left and now it’s cancelled. If you care a lot about this, as you should, the final episode of Degrassi: The Next Generation airs this summer. Get your tear buckets ready! And leave me alone ;/

But you know what they say, 14 Seasons and a Movie…
