Dear Adults: J.K. Rowling Says 'There Will Be Another Children’s Book'

Latest

J.K. Rowling plans on writing another children’s book at some point in the future, so mark your invisible calendars.

The author detailed her future writing goals in a BBC Radio interview about her latest book Career of Evil, published under her Robert Galbraith pseudonym.

After finishing the screenplay she’s currently working on for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Rowling says she’ll return to writing as herself:

“I have plans to write as J.K. Rowling again. I’m not going to give you an absolute date because things are busy enough…I have so many ideas. I have an idea for a children’s book. Actually, I have written part of a children’s book that I really love, so I’m definitely going to finish that. There will be another children’s book. And I have ideas for other adult books.”

Rowling adds, grimly, “I sometimes worry I’ll die before I’ve written them all out. That’s my mid-life crisis.”
