I mean, isn't that the other face of women's oppression -- the venerated and revered Mother? Wasn't our role as mother the sole source of our value to society before feminism? I realize we want to problematize that (to say the least) but it doesn't seem like we can deny that women have benefitted (if asymetrically, and always to our detriment in the end vis a vis men) from our role as Mother.
