Saturday, former Project Runway contestant Christian Siriano showed his fall 2014 collection, which was inspired by Parisian design in the '50s and '60s. In other words: chic wide-brimmed hats, nipped-in waists, checker prints and crocodile bags.

Siriano — now in his 12th season showing during NYFW — told the Wall Street Journal that Lisa Fonssagrives-Penn, was his muse:

I wanted to have the vibe that it was her [Fonssagrives-Penn] and her approach to dressing… Very French, very '50s and early '60s, which was when she was prominent in fashion.
