Today in horrible and bizarre ways to die: a California woman was killed when her husband and his friend fired a cannon into her house. The men say they were "working on the cannon when it went off." It's not clear whether they were wannabe pirates, historical reenactors, or whether this was some pathetic two-man attempt to start an international conflict: they live near the Mexican border. It's also not clear how in the hell they got a cannon in the first place.
